Midnight Ramblings

Perhaps it is my lack of sleep that makes me think I could just quit my job and take a year long road trip, but sometimes it seems possible. I mean, I don't have kids that I would be uprooting from school. I rent, so I don't have a mortgage I need to pay and I have a dependable car so travel should be somewhat easy. My dog, Harley wouldn't mind. He loves car trips and spending time with "Mom". I guess I'm at that point in my life where I'm looking at where I'm at and feeling as though I should have done more. Should have experienced more. Accomplished more. I know it's bad to compare, but I look at others my age and remember when that was where I thought I would be at this point. Goodness, maybe I'm having a quarter life crisis...or maybe I just need to go to bed....

New Avi and banner!

So that I don't skip over my last post, I will start with the fact that the poor little dog you see below met a sad fate. I was very discouraged by this and have not attempted to create another one as of yet. Now, with that said...

I HAVE however, been playing around with my Photoshop Elements program and have created my own avitar and banner! Now, I'm sure a graphic artist would laugh at my creation but I am proud. Took a long, long looooong time to figure out just enough about that darn program to create both of them.

What a pain in the butt, but I finally have a new avi and banner for my artfire.com shop (http://www.harlamy.artfire.com/) <----{shameless advertisment} and I have a new banner for this blog.

New

I'm trying to decide what to do with this little guy. I think he needs some front legs, but I'm not sure. Maybe he could just be cute the way he is.... What do you think? I apologize for the horrible lighting.

Harley Pie

Let me introduce you to my only son. Furry, four legged and adorable! He is 3 years old and a boxer mix. Right now he is pacing around the house trying to find a place to bury his rawhide bone.

The Experiment

A new bracelet with glitter filled translucent clay. They are called inclusion beads. It was just an experiment. I didn't realize how hard it would be to cut them with the glitter inside. It was interesting. I put them up for sale in my artfire studio. Look to the right for the "rapid cart". Clicking on one of the pictures will take you to my studio. ---------->

Handmade bracelet with pillow beads

I made this one yesterday with the red pillow beads and I added a silver toggle clap to finish the bracelet. I think it turned out rather nice. I really liked the red beads I put with this bracelet. They have a very nice shine to them.

Making a Bracelet with Pillow Beads

These polymer clay pillow beads have been sitting around for a while. I couldn't really figure out how I wanted to put them all together. Maybe white pearl, cats eyes, plain white beads? I plan on putting them together in a bracelet today and I think I'm going with some white pearl beads. I'll let you know how it goes.

Harlamy Beginnings - Polymer Clay Creations

This was my very first bracelet. I made the gold and black beads with polymer clay. The beads didn't turn out how I had planned but, for a first bracelet, I was pleased.

This was my first attempt at a dog. I used some scrap polymer clay since I didn't really think it would turn out very well.

This was my first attempt at the mica shift technique. I glazed the pendants with ultra thick embossing enamel (utee).

This one is for sale in my artfire.com studio. Find it at http://www.artfire.com/users/harlamy.

Just opened the new Harlamy studio!

Find me on Flikr!
